The Story Behind Abby Wedderburn: Jewellery for Bold Self-Expression
Share
I’ve always loved jewellery. Not just as an accessory, but as a feeling—how the right piece can make you walk a little taller, move a little differently, feel more like yourself. Jewellery has power like that. But for the longest time, I couldn’t wear the pieces I really wanted to.
Cheaper metals? A nightmare for my skin. I’d put on a ring, a pair of earrings, a cool chain—something that made me feel like I had my whole look together—only to end up itching, skin irritated. It sucked. Because I didn’t just want jewellery, I wanted jewellery that felt like me. Pieces that were a little bold, a little unexpected, a little rebellious—something that could take my everyday jeans-and-T-shirt look and turn it into a whole statement.
I started small. Thrifting old jewellery, experimenting, seeing what I could create from what already existed. That was fun for a while, but I wanted more—I wanted to make something completely my own.
Then I took a wax casting course, just out of curiosity. I wasn’t expecting to fall in love with the process, but there’s something about carving, melting, shaping raw material into something wearable that felt so right. It was hands-on, it was creative, and it was mine. I was hooked.
That was it. That was the moment I knew I wanted to make jewellery—real, quality, long-lasting silver pieces that could be worn every day. Pieces you don’t have to take off, pieces that don’t turn your skin green, pieces that make you feel sexy, confident, powerful, like the best version of yourself.
So I started Abby Wedderburn, a jewellery brand that’s all about self-expression, boldness, and wearing what makes you feel good. It’s for people who want something more than just an accessory—something timeless but daring, something that tells a story.
Because jewellery is never just jewellery. It’s a statement. It’s an attitude. It’s a way of saying, This is who I am. Take it or leave it.
